How Did Cathy Get Started?
In 2009, Cathy Curtis discovered cake truffles (called 'cake balls' by the famous food blogger Bakerella). Simple, yet scrumptious. With her first batch, she could see that to make them was simple, yes - but she knew that making them beautiful, edible works of art would take some time and dedication. After all, the idea itself is not complicated - cake, baked and crumbed, is mixed with frosting, and then dipped in candy coating. But Cathy spent months discovering the best way to make them as beautiful as they are delicious. Anyone can make them, it's true, and they are often delicious no matter their appearance...but Cathy's have been described as "too perfect to eat", "like something made by a machine", and "too beautiful to be handmade". Flattering words which humble Cathy, but words she earns by making sure each one looks as close to perfect as possible.
First making them for family and friends, and meanwhile gaining experience and fostering a love for the craft, she soon began hearing from those loved ones who first tried them, "Did you REALLY make these by hand?" and then "You should be selling these!" That sounded like a pretty "sweet" idea to Cathy. Offering these versatile and lovely treats sounded more like play than work, and Cathy is still having a blast creating beautiful, delectable, artful desserts. And now she is excited about the possibility of creating them just for you!
In 2011, Sweetest Perfection was incorporated, and as we keep growing and changing, we hope to gain more repeat customers who come to know and recognize Sweetest Perfection as THE source for cake truffles and other sweet treats.
Why Do I Want To Buy Them?
Your next party, shower or business function will be made even more special when these delightful, sweet, cake-made-into-candy morsels grace your dessert table. When your guests ask you what those pretty little things are, just let them try one (or two)! They'll soon be passing them around, and you can proudly say you've had them handmade just for the occasion. And you'll be right about that! No molds or machines here - Cathy makes each one, by hand, and decorates it with a particular eye, and then packages them with care for you to share with your loved ones.
They are the perfect dessert for any function you may be planning, and the flavor possibilities are practically endless. From chocolate to strawberry, from white to lemon - any cake, blended with a touch of frosting, can be transformed into a cake truffle that is then coated in creamy, smooth candy coatings, and made beautiful for your special day! They can be decorated elegantly for weddings or showers, or can be sprinkled with fun, brightly-colored jimmies or sparkly sugars for a birthday party or reunion. For a special birthday treat, Cathy can use sucker sticks to turn them into "cake pops"...forget about ice cream, the kids SCREAM for cake pops!
Why Should I Buy Them From Sweetest Perfection?
It's true that you will find other cake truffles out there, and you may even find them at a lower price - but ask to see a few of theirs and decide for yourself if they make the grade for YOUR upcoming function. As with most things in life, you get what your pay for. Are they round? Smooth? Are they really, really beautiful, from top to bottom? Do they have a neat, finished "foot" on the bottom, or is the extra chocolate just broken off to fit the truffle into the cup? Are they fully "sealed" in candy coating, or is there cake peeking out the bottom when you pick them up? Are the decorations done with precision and care, or are things just piled on top? Are they a dessert that you could probably make yourself with not-too-much effort? If that's the case, then ask yourself why you are paying someone else to make them for you. ;-)
When you receive cake truffles from Sweetest Perfection, you can rest assured that we have spent the time needed to create edible works of art, just for you. It's true, anyone can make them, but Sweetest Perfection cake truffles are top-to-bottom beautiful, and that's a promise! Every one is handled with care, decorated with patience, and made beautiful just for you and your guests.
Are They Really That Versatile and That Good?
The endless possible combinations of cake, frosting and candy, married with a perfectionist's eye and her love for beautiful and scrumptious treats, ultimately bring you a bite-sized, confectionary bit of heaven. They really will be "that special something" at your next function, and you can proudly serve them and prepare yourself for the "oohs" and "aahs" that always seem to come just after that first bite of a Sweetest Perfection cake truffle.
